Construction Site Disposal Frankfurt

As one of Europe’s largest financial hubs and major transport hubs, Frankfurt faces unique waste management challenges. The city on the Main’s population easily swells to over a million people during daytime thanks to commuters, airline passengers and trade fair visitors – and it can be hard to keep up with a logistics system that can handle such peaks. For this reason, it’s important for anyone who works in the construction industry to know how to properly dispose of their building rubble and soil materials. A well-planned and regular waste removal process helps you to meet the legal requirements for construction and demolition materials without disrupting your work schedule too much.

Construction Site Disposal in Frankfurt: Best Practices

Construction site waste is a broad term that includes concrete, wood, plastic and framing. This type of material is often discarded improperly, which can have serious environmental impacts. To prevent this, you should always sort and recycle your construction waste on site to give it a second life.

Frankfurter Entsorgungs- und Service (FES), the municipal waste management company, provides a high level of separation and recycling for all types of waste. Residual household and commercial waste that resembles residual domestic waste is collected in waste bins. It is then incinerated in a waste-to-energy plant, which provides heat and electricity for Frankfurt residents. Paper and organic waste is collected in the blue and green waste containers. Meanwhile, empty PE packaging with the sustainable combustion option is collected in Renomat inserts in the bridge-properties – these are placed in special designer bins.
